The Perfect Orchid Bouquet - Easy Tips

Choose an orchid bouquet for your wedding. It can be classy, simple, traditional, extravagant or just plain vibrant.

Considering that orchids are one of the top wedding flowers, you are not alone in your search to make a decision.

Orchid bouquets are so popular that almost every wedding I've been to in the last five years have had them as bouquets and/or centerpieces. Some were obviously better looking than others. However, they were all fabulous.

Here's some basic tips and info on creating the orchid wedding bouquet yourself and/or outsourcing the work to a reputable florist.

Thankfully (and that's up for debate), in the world we live you have plenty of choices when it comes to deciding which colors (traditional whites or vibrant colors) and what particular flower or flowers you should use. In addition, you have to decide whether you want fresh orchids or silk orchids; there are benefits to both.

There are many choices to arranging your orchid wedding bouquet. You can add crystals, rhinestones, lace, branches, tropical greenery and a considerable amount of other things.

Let your imagination go totally wild. Be simple. Be extravagant. Be classy. Most of all Be you.

**While some brides use only orchids, others blend orchids with other flowers to make stunning orchid wedding bouquets.

**You should also consider the size of the orchid bouquet in relation to your dress and your figure. It does make a difference.

**You want to consider where you are getting married. Is it the church, the beach, a hall, or a friends backyard. These are things you HAVE to consider. For example, if your getting married in a church you may want to decorate the pews.

**You don't want you bouquet to be the center of attraction. You want to take on that job. So many choices: classic, traditional, teardrop.

**You should consider the color of your hair and your skin complexion/tone and your bridesmaids dresses. Your orchid wedding bouquet should compliment all of you. And let's not forget the gentlemen. Will they be wearing boutonnieres? Orchids make great for those with berries and/or lace.

**Lastly, you want to consider your budget. Are you going high end, low end or middle? Make a budget and stick to it!

Consider if you will be paying for shipping and handling or picking them up yourself from a local florist.

Rule of thumb: Your bridesmaids should have smaller bouquets.

Remember, this is THE special day. Think about all you have to do. Are you willing to stay up late on the fore night handling dozens of fresh flowers, ribbons, pins, lace, etc? Perhaps, you have a plethora of friends and family to help. If that is the case, you must consider the life span of the flowers, picture taking, dancing and more...

1- Choose flowers that can withstand the heat of the camera lights and have a long vase life. (You do want your flowers fresh even after the ceremonious dancing.)

2- Have your orchids and other fresh flowers delivered overnight to guarantee freshness the day before the wedding.

3- Have a cool location to store them after you've made your orchid wedding bouquets.

4- Please remember to consider whether you are having a winter, fall, spring, or fall wedding.

Here are some benefits to the considering silk orchid bouquet.

*Silk flowers are cheaper compared to fresh flowers.

*Silk flowers can withstand the photos and dancing, as they don't crush easily.

*Silk flowers are not affected by temperature and retain their fresh look forever :)

*Silk flowers can be carried a long distance, if you are getting married on the beach in Jamaica.

*Your guests will love you when they win the dance contest and the prize is the silk orchid bouquet at their table.

*They last forever and ever.

Visit BloomingBulb.com for #1 quality Holland flower bulbs... at wholesale prices! If you are looking to buy the ingredients and prepare your own orchid bouquet, there are a few things that you must know. Don't just run down to the local craft store and buy up all their stock. Their price is a good indicator of the quality of the material. Those, alleged, silk flowers are not even made from silk but from latex or vinyl.

Please! Read this first!

Silk flowers come in grades. Like most other things you can choose from low , medium or high quality silk orchids. They are graded 1 to 6, with 6 being the Mercedez Benz of them all.

My suggestion would be to question any merchant about the grade and ask for grade 5 or 6. Grade 6 silk is newest and ultimate in top quality. The touch is not like that of artificial flowers. They look very real and very lifelike. It's even fooled many people. The texture of the materials is such that when you touch petals, leaves and/or stems, you get the sensation of touching real live fresh flowers.

If your budget is a concern, you may be pleased with a medium grade (4) silk orchid bouquet. The medium grade will look real and provide you with a lifetime of memories as well. However, they won't feel real and you may not fool your guests.

How to tell the difference? Well, if you look very closely at medium grade silk flowers, you may little specks or dots of color. Take your camera with you when shopping and zoom in on the petals. If you see little speck or dots of color, then by all means, don't let them charge you the price of high quality silk.
